Stick To Your Ribs Stew

This is a hearty stick to your ribs meat, potato and vegetable stew that is sure to please. This recipe is great for the slow cooker when you want to come home to a nearly complete meal.

Ingredients:

  • 1  -  Package of Stew Meat
  • 2  -  Cans of Beef Broth
  • 1  -  Medium Onion peeled and chopped
  • 1  -  Baking Potato peeled and cut into chunks
  • 1  -  Package of Stew Seasoning
  • 1  -  Package of Frozen vegetables
  • Oil, Flour, salt, garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper

Grab a gallon sized bag. Add 3 or 4 scoops of flour. Then add salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder to taste. Close bag and shake well. Open stew meat and add to flour mixture in bag. Close and shake well. Heat oil to med-high in a large pot on the stove. Pull meat pieces from flour mixture and add to pot. Brown meat for 5-10 minutes stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.

In a separate bowl, stir stew seasoning with amount of water recommended on the packet. Add to crock pot and turn on High. Add meat. Add both cans of beef broth. (If broth is condensed, add a soup can of water for each can) Then add another can or so of water. Add potatoes and onion. Cook all on High for 6 hours. Add vegetables and cook for another hour and a half.

If you do not want to wait for the vegetables, you can transfer the contents of the crock pot to a dutch oven and heat med-high on the stove. Once boiling, add your vegetables. Cook for 20 minutes or until vegetables are done.

We like to serve this with hot rolls or homemade bread.
