Pam’s Caramel Bars
Sweet chocolate and caramel combine to make this rich and delicious treat.
Ingredients:
- 1 - Box German Cake Mix
- 1 - 5.5 to 6 oz. Can of Condensed Milk, divided
- 1 - 14 oz Bag of Caramels
- 1 - 12 oz Bag of Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
- 3/4 Cup Butter
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
Melt butter and add to cake mix along with half of the condensed milk. Mix well.
In a separate pan, add caramels and the remaining half of the condensed milk. Melt, stirring occasionally.
Take half of the cake batter and spread evenly into a 9"x13" pan. Bake for 5-7 minutes.
Remove pan from oven and spread bag of chocolate chips evenly on top. Add melted caramel mixture across the top of the chocolate chips.
Grab the remaining half of the cake mixture and spread across the melted caramel. (This takes some practice and skill) Place back into oven for 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool long enough to place into refrigerator to completely cool. Keep refrigerated.
